Sound Designer

Nevin provided the sound design for multiple Tony® Award-winning musical phenomenon Hamilton.  Recently, Nevin’s work on Broadway includes the 2023 revival of Sweeney Todd, Tina:The Tina Turner Musical (Tony® Award nomination), Freestyle Love Supreme, Hadestown (Tony® Award), The Cher Show, the 6-time Tony® Award-winning contemporary smash hit Dear Evan Hansen, Bandstand, Bright Star, It Should Have Been You and Terrance McNally’s Mothers And Sons. Nevin received a Tony® Award nomination for Best Sound Design for the revival of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella (Broadway), and has also worked off-Broadway, where his work includes the world premiere of John Kander and Greg Pierce’s The Landing at The Vineyard Theatre, and Far From Heaven for Playwrights Horizons. Formerly, Nevin was a founding principal of the prolific sound design firm Acme Sound Partners, providing sound design services for dozens of Broadway shows, including Tony® Award winners: The Gershwins’ Porgy and Bess, Hair, Monty Python’s Spamalot, The Light In The Piazza, Avenue Q and La Bohème; earning him Tony® Award nominations for Best Sound Design in each of the first five years the award was given (for The Gershwins’ Porgy & Bess, Bengal Tiger at The Baghdad Zoo, Fences starring Viola Davis and Denzel Washington, Hair, and In The Heights). Also during his tenure, Acme received six Drama Desk Award nominations and won the Drama Desk Award four times, for Porgy and Bess, Bengal Tiger, Ragtime and La Bohème. Nevin is the Audio Consultant for Carnegie Hall’s Isaac Stern Auditorium.
